On the subject of sculpting, the textures needed for the materials to be created had to give the impression of metal, Leather and wood. Simple in theory but work was put in during practise which was found to be achievable using a few basic tools and the layer system in ZBrush, along with the help of some research in application of technique.

Polygon Academy's YouTube channel provided a great reference for the wood, TUTORIAL: Sculpting Wood in ZBRUSH - 3 EASY STEPS! | Polygon Academy - YouTube

whereas Danique3D provided the techniques for sculpting metal.

Quick Metal Surface and Cuts Brush tutorial for Zbrush - YouTube The difference in my approach is that I used my references to sculpt the metal along with the learned techniques.

Sculpting the details as a texture base is great but a non-destructive workflow is best for iterations. Using the layer system gave options in terms of choosing which details of which layers can be kept or removed alongside which details can be blended together.
